The UK is ready to advance with using the total value of seized Russia's holdings to support the Ukrainian military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the decision would be implemented in strong partnership with the United States.

British restrictions have immobilized more than £25bn of Russian assets since the Russian government launched its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. However, up to this point, resources sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's assets had only been taken from earnings and returns generated on them.

Sir Keir told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were aligned in their desire to push forward toward utilizing the full value of the frozen Moscow's national holdings to conclude the conflict.

He added that additional sanctions over the next period would increase the strain on Moscow.

This announcement comes after European Union officials met in the Danish capital previously to discuss using frozen Russia's funds for a €140 billion credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to seize or utilize immobilized Russian holdings, based on news outlets.

The worth of immobilized Russian assets in the EU is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

The Russian government launched large-scale bombardments across Ukraine on Friday, leading to power cuts in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, the city, and eight other regions.

In a update on X following the strike, Zelensky stated that the premeditated assault aimed at civilian and energy infrastructure.
